You may be remembering that when Vitamin C and Iodine are combined, the result is iodide. Some people do this intentionally, such as by putting their Lugol's in orange juice or in water with Vitamin C. Iodine can be too strong for some, and the Iodide can be a bit smoother of an experience. It's a personal choice.
