Hello,
Thank you all for these posts.
My story is similar but I had the paraguard iud. I had no trouble I could notice until 6 months after insertion when I hurt my back just tying my shoe - it was so bizarre.
I'm a very fit 5'5 inch tall person with no history of easy back injuries like that... the injury seemed to never heal (it was my left SI joint that was the worst ).. for months I would get better - then maybe pick up my toddler wrong and get worse again.. and spent 100's $ at my osteopath office
My chiropractor and my massage therapist to no avail - I finally (after 7 months) got a new doctor as I was so confused why I would not heal.. I was told breast feeding could be my problem and that my ligament were too loose from breastfeeding.. on and on..
I then noticed an odd rash on my left shin that started as one 6 mm spot and then spread to three 6 mm areas of red flaky skin.... I had never had a rash before in my life !
Then I found a new chiropractor and she said my glute muscles were not firing correctly .. and have me exercises .. none of these people asked me if I had an IUD.. it just never came up..and I never thought it was related !
Then as of last October (2016- 18 months after getting my iud ) I started getting tons of burning pain in my left si joint and I could not escape the pain ( I had no new injury)... it was like my old injury had suddenly become 10 x worse and also on fire!? So that is when I started googling my symptoms and found psoriatic arthritis... I actually contacted my doctor to say " when can I come in.. I think I have PA and need u to test me for it" I didn't want PA but wanted some damn explanation for my pain and rash.... etc
I had to wait a week to see my doc ( the clinic is very popular ) and the night before my apt with doc I was googling more and found a website that talked about gluteal dysfunction SI pain and Iud's! And how they can be related - so I called my OB the very next day and got it removed - and thank gawd!! I actually felt relief by the very next day.. it was been a long road fircsure but each week I get better .. I have been doing a liver cleanse every 2 weeks where I eat raw 2-3 days and take some liver cleanse supplements and no processed foods.
I highly recommend liver cleanse to anyone who has had iud removed !
Best of luck to all and hang in there <3
