Loquat, 2 Chron. 7:14 was about God's promise to the nation of Israel at that time. They were under the Old Covenant, and under that covenant, God promised to bless them in physical ways (for example "heal their land"etc.) if they were obedient, but punish them in physical ways (not heal their land, etc.) if they were not.
America is not "God's nation" or "His people" as Israel was "God's nation" or "people". America has God's people in it, but that's all, just like any other nation in the world has God's people in it.
And God's people are not under the Old Covenant anymore. They are under a New one. And the New Covenant doesn't work the same way as the old. It's no longer "be obedient, receive physical blessings, or "be disobedient, receive physical punishment". The New Covenant is much different, and better, made on eternal spiritual promises.
In the New Covenant, even if we are wonderfully obedient, a large percentage of us even, we could still live in a unhealed land and have unhealed bodies, get our heads chopped off, or whatever. But all of this is worth it because again, our blessings in the New Covenant are spiritual (eternal salvation, etc.). God also blesses his people in physical ways under the New Covenant, but it is not promised. Many die in poverty, sickness, as martyrs, etc.
The false health/wealthy gospel preachers will dig into the Old Testament, and find physical promises made to the nation of Israel under the Old Covenant and apply them to God's people today, since these passages taken out of context fit their health/wealth gospel so well, but the promises were not made to us, and so this greatly misleads people.
So should we still humble ourselves, pray, seek God, and repent and encourage everyone to do the same? Absolutely! and Always! But that still doesn't mean God will heal the land (America, or elsewhere) simply because he's made no promise to do that.
We have to rightly divide the word, take into account who God is speaking to, etc. Otherwise we mislead people with false teachings that have serious consequences. What are all these people that believe God is going to heal America's land because Trump is now the president (thinking he's now president because enough people humbled themselves and prayed) going to do if that doesn't happen? Their faith is in a promise that doesn't apply to them. It's so much better to have faith in promises that do apply to us.
Rainy says it so dogmatically, "God will heal the land!" not "he might heal the land", but "He will!" So I am concerned for her and everyone else that is saying the same thing so dogmatically and surely! What if he doesn't?
Sorry that was such a long answer. I just got carried away I guess. And I'm sure you already know everything I just said, but I felt like I had to explain all that to answer your question.
By the way, I can't say I'm a preterist at this time. Still studying!
