Your daughter has pinworms. Getting rid of the infestation and not getting reinfected will be difficult. Hygiene is critical.

and also search on CZ for other info. This is a very common problem in children. They pass it around in school and daycare. Make sure that your daughter wears underwear under her pajamas so that she does not get the eggs under her fingernails when she scratches at night. You will need to wash all of the bed clothes, pajamas and underwear every day in hot water-as hot as you can get it. Use a fingernail brush and brush under everyone's nails. More detail in Dr. Kalcker's protocol. Be careful, as you can get infected too. The eggs from the pinworms are microscopic, and they can be in the dust bunnies in your house. So vaccuum like a madman too. Use alcohol to clean toilets, tubs, counters, etc. - bleach is not strong enough.
You will need to repeat treatment after 2 weeks. Vermox (mebendazole) is usually used for roundworms and pyrantel paomate is used for pinworms. Pyrantel paomate is sold in the US in drugstores as Reese's Pinworm medicine. See the CDC website.
Some suggest an application of Desitin (diaper rash ointment that is primarily zinc oxide) every time there is a bowel movement. You want to keep the anus well covered in Desitin in order to suffocate the eggs. It should be applied before bed too. The eggs are laid in the folds of the anus so you will have to insert it a bit. A mild enema with warm water will help flush the eggs out too.
