Yes, Iodoral 50 mg has 20 mg Iodine + 30 mg iodide. It can be useful to get some straight iodine, but it is not natural. Iodine is not found in nature.

Iodide, however, is found in nature, and your body can use lots and lots of it. It will help liquify all the excess mucus you have, especially partnered with plenty of water and salt. And over time, it can help tune up your thyroid.

Potassium Iodide is an easy way to get plenty of iodide. For instance, when Trapper talks about using 1 gram of SSKI (saturated solution of potassium iodide), that 1 gram translates into 764 mg Iodide and 236 mg potassium. You can't get to those sorts of levels using Iodoral only.
