Pylori persister cells are what enter the stomach wall. Their biofilm replaces the normal stomach mucosa and is what makes them so difficult to eliminate. It's not that they enter the stomach wall, it's the biofilm which protects them. The biofilm eliminates anything which is toxic to them and provides a shield against most things.
