Tergot and others, i also believe this is not a wound but candida. You are not going to like what im about to say but its the truth. The fact is and doctors agree that everybody has candida living in them. The reason people do not have yeast overgrowth on there lips is because they apply saliva to there lips. Saliva is anti candida which is why when you wake up your tounge will be dry and crusty but your saliva kills it within a minute. You produce no saliva when you sleep. There was a article i read on ncbi a medical site that said saliva kills candida. If you want to be afraid of saliva then i guess you could try the Epsom Salts . Good Luck
