I should add that I regularly do 2 litre / 2 quart saline water enemas and have no pain. So I don't think the enemas in themselves are dangerous, but you should always stop when there is pain, and reduce the amount. Try 1 quart, slowly increase. It could be that you have too much obstruction from impacted matter in your colon, or your colon is smaller than average, or other things. Don't push it.
