Its a tradeoff. Silvergen quoted slightly about half the cost of a new unit including shipping. Given 8 years of use on the unit plus the fact that the new units have a number of upgrades including the stirrer unit - in the long run it's probably cheaper to pay the extra hundred and change for a new unit.

If I didn't rely on it or use it often I'd probably opt for the cheaper fix.
