The HOT setup is no reversing polarity. That is just a marketing gimmick.

Use Stainless steel for the Cathode (-). This will last a lifetime and is easy to clean. There is no reason to use expensive silver for the cathode.

Then use a 1 oz silver bar for the Anode (+) which should also last a lifetime because of its size. Clean the silver bar after each use.

Only the anode(+) strips silver from the electrode. The cathode(-) remains the same during production. Anything can be used for the cathode such as copper, aluminum but stainless steel is best for easy cleaning.

Then this allows for optimizing current flow. Up to 15ma can be used for speed because of the large electrode size. However I like to keep the current small as in 3 milliamps to minimize particle size. It takes longer at 3 MA but only a few hours per quart to make 20ppm.
