Not sure what's optimal but I use 1/2 to a full eye dropper. Mullein is an expectorant and loosens up the phlegm which speeds your recovery time significantly.

So it makes sense to maybe use a full dropper until things loosen up and go down to half once the phlegm's really coming up.
