In addition, patients with atopic eczema frequently have low CD8 suppressor cytotoxic T cells whereas patients with Psoriasis frequently have high CD8 suppressor cytotoxic T cells. In studies, babies who developed dermatitis had significantly lower CD8 suppressor cytotoxic T cells than babies who did not develop it. Cytotoxcity against fibroblasts increases, which suggests autotoxicity against skin cells in atopic eczema. Overall, there is a T-cell imbalance.
Again, taking a zinc supplement for a period of time may increase your CD8 suppressor cytotoxic T cells. In a study, 25 mg, 50 mg, and 75 mg doses were tested on participants for a few years. All doses gradually increased CD8 cells. This increase in CD8 suppressor cytotoxic T cells also led to decreased staph infections. I could not tell you which dose is best.
