I had the Merida IUD placed in me when I was 47. I had it for about 6.5 years. My periods stopped immediately which was great because I suffered from Menorhhea (heavy periods) I believe in that time frame my face got dark and splotchy over the time period. It's pretty bad. Both cheeks are covered.
