Dear Dr Jeff,

My son is under a leading research professor at a university that is tied to the National Health System in the U K. This is the second professor my son has been too in the same circumstances, both professors highly acclaimed.

Both professors are researching into bacterial overgrowth / dysbiosis of the gut, sibo etc...

In fact my present professor tells me that there is more research going on into dysbiosis bacterial health problems etc than there is cancer.

What they both tell me is they can't find overgrowth of candida in their research of dysbiosis. Why is that ?

These professors are highly acclaimed and although I don't feel I can mention them without their permission they have published a lot of research and one has even written books and been mentioned in books.

So why can't they find an overgrowth of candida and yet they can other bacteria. Has it got something to do with the numbers, exactly what is classed as an overgrowth.

On the curezone candida forums so many people post pictures of what they believe is candida, surely if this was the case leading research would have picked it up within the University's.

I am asking because I am confused.

My son is on long term antifungal and it has proved impossible to get him off, he has been diagnosed with gut dysbiosis through these Universities. They also suspect he has sibo which has spread up to his teeth with an overgrowth of plaque and he has acid reflux diagnosed at Great Ormond Street Hospital.

I do feel I have gone out of my way to get him the best help, I have tried the best alternative medical establishments too. I find that the university's ideas on candida are not the same as the alternative establishments and over time I have come to realise the alternatives have not been as helpful as I had hoped, in fact quite the opposite.
