“I command you therefore before God and the Lord Jesus Christ, who will judge the living and the dead at his appearing and his Kingdom: preach the word; be urgent in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, and exhort, with all patience and teaching. For the time will come when they will not listen to the sound doctrine, but, having itching ears, will heap up for themselves teachers after their own lusts; and will turn away their ears from the truth, and turn aside to fables.” 2 Timothy 4:1-4 WEB
 
The Greek word for fables is “muthos,”or “mythos,”which is the origin for the English word: “myth”. A myth is a fabricated story that is pretending to be the truth, or a false account that is designed to pervert or replace the truth.
 
The scriptures predict a time in history when people will no longer listen to sound doctrine, but instead they will turn and listen to myths. They will turn away from the truth in order to follow after fabricated stories that pretend to be the truth. The belief in a flat-earth is definitely classified as a fable/myth that is designed to turn people from the truth and thus fulfills the prophecy of Paul as stated in 2 Timothy 4:1-4.  
 
The Flat-Earth Cult
 
The belief in a flat-earth has laid dormant for centuries, with the exception of a few wacky believers during certain periods of time, who unsuccessfully attempted to preach the virtues of this lie.  However, since about 2012, the flat-earth belief has had a revival with thousands buying into this deception. Books have been published to promote the flat-earth doctrine, videos with thousands of views, there has been an upsurge of discussion of the flat-earth on social media, and the numbers of those who profess to be believers of the flat-earth myth are growing and we call it the Flat-Earth Cult.
 
You would think it would be impossible for anyone to truly believe in a flat-earth in our modern era of rockets, space travel and satellites. However, the flat-earth delusion is so powerful that its believers actually deny the existence of satellites, deny space travel and deny rockets. They even deny the reality of photos from space and deny confirmed science that proves the earth is a globe. The Flat-Earth Cult has made a complete turn away [apostasy] from all truth in order to entrench themselves in a delusion that denies reality.
 
It is very sad to see people who profess a belief in the scriptures and claim to be followers of Yeshua [Jesus], to see them turn away from sound doctrine in order to turn toward this flat-earth delusion. Yeshua [Jesus] said in the last days “Many false prophets will arise, and will lead many astray.” (Matthew 24:11 WEB) and the Flat-Earth Cult has many self-proclaimed teachers of truth, but are really false prophets of lies.
 
Flat-earth believers often quote from the “Flat-Earth Bible,” which was written by an atheist named Robert Schadewald, who wrote the “Flat-Earth Bible” in order to mock the scriptures and creationism. This same atheist spent 20 years keeping creation teaching out of public schools.
 
The Flat-Earth Cult follows the teachings of William Carpenter, a spiritualist, mystic, and hypnotist, who authored: “One Hundred Proofs the Earth is Not a Globe,” “The Bedford Experiment,” and also published or authored many more books to promote the flat-earth doctrine.
 
Samuel Birley Rowbotham, author of Zetetic Astronomy, which is a popular reference book among the Flat-Earth Cult, was also the organizer of a Secular Socialist commune. After his socialist commune failed he traveled the country charging money to give lectures on the flat-earth.
 
Lady Elizabeth Anne Mould Blount, was the founder of Universal Zetetic Society in 1893, to promote the flat-earth. However, she is also known for her books on sex.
 
Even modern day teachers within the Flat-Earth Cult include those who promote the heretical Book of Enoch [See our book: “The Book of Enoch Debunked”] and teachers who also believe in yoga and pagan Asian religions.
 
Why would believers forsake the truth and look to this assorted collection of false teachers, with questionable lifestyles for answers? Do these pioneers of the flat-earth movement appear to be the type of people who have an accurate interpretation of the scriptures? Their character, actions and teachings should be a warning for every believer to stay away from their lies, yet may refuse to heed this warning and choose to learn and embrace the lies of these false prophets.
 
Hopefully, this book will be a warning to those curious about the false teachings of the Flat-Earth Cult. Their ideas may appear appealing and their lies may sound like truth, but in the end they will lead you down a path of demonic teachings that will cause you to doubt everything. They will turn you into a zealot of the flat-earth, preoccupied with preaching the flat-earth gospel to the world. The true Gospel of salvation will take a backseat to your “flat-earth truth.” You will then get caught up into extra-biblical books, such as the Book of Enoch, Jubilees, and many other books rejected by both Jews and Christians. Your spiritual life will spiral down new lows and you will not even notice it, because in your mind you have discovered what you believe is truth. This is common with everyone who gets caught up in any cult. You will consider everyone who refutes your flat-earth beliefs as either an instrument of Satan, or deceived by Satan, and you will believe it is only you and your fellow flat-earth believers who are the “true enlightened.”
 
This book was designed to point out some of the biblical errors of the Flat-Earth Cult. We haven’t covered all the errors, but enough to hopefully wake people up to the lies of the modern day flat-earth movement. 

The Flat-Earth Cult claims the North Pole is the center of the earth. Every flat-earth map shows the North Pole as the center of the earth, as seen in the example below.

However, God refutes the Flat-Earth Cult’s map, and it is God himself that clearly tells us where the true geographic center of the earth is located:

“Thus says the Lord Yahweh: This is Jerusalem; I have set her in the midst of the nations, and countries are around her.” Ezekiel 5:5
 
Ezekiel chapter 38, talks about a war in which the nations will gather to invade Israel. However, the interesting point that’s revealed is that that the bible once again, clearly states, that Israel lives in the center of the world.
 
“…take the spoil and to take the prey; to turn your hand against the waste places that are [now] inhabited, and against the people who are gathered out of the nations, who have gotten livestock and goods, who dwell in the middle of the earth.” Ezekiel 38:12
 
With these two scriptures we can see without a doubt, that biblically, the North Pole is not and never has been the geographic center of the earth as the Flat-Earth Cult claims it is.
 
Can science verify that Israel is really the geographic center of the earth?
 
The answer to that question is yes. I know of at least three scientists that have tried to actually calculate the geographic center of the world and made claim’s based on their estimations.
 
Two scientist claims an area in Turkey is the actual geographic center of the earth, which is found at the following coordinates: (1) 39°00′N 34°00′E, or (2) 40°52′N 34°34′E.
 
Charles Piazzi Smyth, Director of the Royal Observatory of Edinburgh, and professor of astronomy at Edinburgh University, came up with different calculations and claimed the Pyramid of Giza was the geographic center of the earth at (3) 30°00′N 31°00′E.

Therefore, we now have three man-made estimations, all in the geographic zone of biblical accuracy.

Now if someone in the Flat-Earth Cult wants to get technical about the issue, or cry foul and say the “center of the earth” estimations of these scientists are not close enough to modern day Israel, then we need to point out that the borders of modern day Israel are not the true borders of Israel (the Promised Land borders), which God declared in Genesis 15:18-21. See the map above and you will find that all three scientific estimates clearly fall in God’s Promised Land borders of Genesis. The scientists are in the same zone that God declares in the scriptures as the true center of the earth.

Biblical proof for the extended borders of Israel and the true center of the earth
 
 “In that day Yahweh made a covenant with Abram, saying, ‘I have given this land to your offspring, from the river of Egypt to the great river, the river Euphrates: the Kenites, the Kenizzites, the Kadmonites, the Hittites, the Perizzites, the Rephaim,  the Amorites, the Canaanites, the Girgashites, and the Jebusites.” Genesis 15:18-21
 
God said in his word that what he declared in the beginning will come to past in the end:
 
“Declaring from the beginning the latter end, And from of old that which hath not been done, Saying, 'My counsel doth stand, And all My delight I do’.” Isaiah 46:10 YLT
 
Therefore, in God’s eyes, the true lands of his people are the borders of Genesis 15:18-21. This is also the area that God calls the center of the earth (Ezekiel chapters 5 & 38).
 
In addition, we need to consider that the scriptures also speak of a “New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven” (Revelations 21:2). The dimensions of this holy city will be about 1,400 miles in length, width, and height.
 
“He who spoke with me had for a measure, a golden reed, to measure the city, its gates, and its walls. The city lies foursquare, and its length is as great as its breadth. He measured the city with the reed, Twelve thousand twelve stadia. Its length, breadth, and height are equal. Its wall is one hundred forty-four cubits, by the measure of a man, that is, of an angel. The construction of its wall was jasper. The city was pure gold, like pure glass.” Revelation 21:15-18
 
New Jerusalem will encompass a huge area of what God and men both claim is the geographic center of the earth. This is why Jerusalem will be the location that the Messiah will establish for his kingdom, which is right in the center of all the nations of the earth.
 
“At that time they shall call Jerusalem 'The throne of Yahweh;' and all the nations shall be gathered to it, to the name of Yahweh, to Jerusalem...” Jerimiah 3:17 WEB
 
No matter how you look at it, from Ezekiel chapters 5 & 38, Genesis chapter 15 or even Revelation chapter 21, the scriptures are all 100% correct about Israel being the center of the earth.
 
With this biblical proof, we can make an accurate statement, supported by the scriptures, that the flat-earth map defies the word of God, by claiming the North Pole is the center of the earth. Every time The Flat-Earth cult promotes their map as being “accurate” they are calling God a liar.
 
The flat earth map can never show Israel as the center of the earth. Only the spherical earth can show Israel at the true geographic center of the earth, which is proof the earth was created as a globe. So, not only is the Flat-Earth Cult in serious error with their understanding of the earth, but the Flat-Earth Cult is also in very serious spiritual error, by promoting a message that is counter to the word of God.

“After this, I saw four angels standing at the four corners of the earth, holding the four winds of the earth, so that no wind would blow on the earth, or on the sea, or on any tree.” Revelations 7:1 WEB

Shown above is the Orlando Ferguson four corners, flat-earth map, which many in the Flat-Earth Cult claim is an accurate depiction of the world and what they also claim to be biblically accurate. This of course is false. This four corner map is proof that the Flat-Earth Cult is biblically illiterate, because they believe the earth is situated within four literal corners as illustrated on the Orlando Ferguson map.
 
Any intelligent reading of the scriptures, in proper context, will easily show that the four corners are not four literal corners as depicted by the Orlando Ferguson map, but are instead the four extremities of the earth, or better stated as the four directional points of North, South, East and West.

Can we prove the “four corners” are not literal corners of the earth? Absolutely!
 
Take a look at Isaiah 11:12: “He will set up a banner for the nations, and will assemble the outcasts of Israel, and gather together the dispersed of Judah from the four corners of the earth.” (WEB translation)
 
If we take Isaiah 11:12 with a literal interpretation as the Flat-Earth Cult takes Revelation 7:1 literally, then that means the people of Israel are living in some region of the universe that is not even on the earth. How can that happen? How can people live outside of the earth? Look at the map below.

Isaiah 11:11 proves that the dispersed of Israel cannot be living in the “four corners” of the earth as depicted by the Orlando Ferguson map above.
 
“It will happen in that day that the Lord will set his hand again the second time to recover the remnant that is left of his people from Assyria, from Egypt, from Pathros, from Cush, from Elam, from Shinar, from Hamath, and from the islands of the sea.” Isaiah 11:11 WEB
 
We can see this clarifies what verse 12 is talking about: “He will set up a banner for the nations, and will assemble the outcasts of Israel, and gather together the dispersed of Judah from the four corners of the earth.” God will call his people from all the nations and regions, which are listed in verse 11.
 
Egypt, Assyria (modern day Turkey, Syria, Iraq and Iran), Pathros (another region of Egypt), Cush (modern day Sudan and Ethiopia), Elam (modern day Iran and Afghanistan), Shinar (modern day Iraq), Hamath (modern day Syria) and the Islands of the Earth are not outside of the earth in void of the four corners. These areas can be seen as North, South, East and West of Israel, proving the four corners are four points of direction and not four literal corners of the earth. Therefore, the Flat-Earth Cult’s literal interpretation of the scriptures describing “four corners” is complete foolishness.
 
Here is further proof the dispersed of Israel are not living off the earth, in the four literal corners of their Orlando Ferguson map, but instead the dispersed of Israel will come from the four points of direction (North, South, East and West).
 
“Let the redeemed by Yahweh say so, whom he has redeemed from the hand of the adversary, and gathered out of the lands, from the east and from the west, from the north and from the south.” Psalms 107:2-3 WEB
 
“Don't be afraid; for I am with you. I will bring your seed from the east, and gather you from the west.” Isaiah 43:5 WEB
 
“Behold, Yahweh stood above it, and said, "I am Yahweh, the God of Abraham your father, and the God of Isaac. The land whereon you lie, to you will I give it, and to your seed. Your seed will be as the dust of the earth, and you will spread abroad to the west, and to the east, and to the north, and to the south. In you and in your seed will all the families of the earth be blessed.” Genesis 28:13-14 WEB
 
“The Jews therefore said among themselves, "Where will this man go that we won't find him? Will he go to the Dispersion among the Greeks, and teach the Greeks?” John 7:35 WEB

“I will tell the north, 'Give them up!' and tell the south, 'Don't hold them back! Bring my sons from far, and my daughters from the ends of the earth” Isaiah 43:6 WEB
 
This is more than enough evidence to show that God’s people are in all four areas of the compass (North, South, East and West) and throughout all nations. One day he will call his people back from the nations of the earth and not from some mythical 4 corner region that is not even on the earth, which the Flat-Earth Cult wants you to believe.  
 
Further proof is seen in the Hebrew word that is used for the “four corners,” which is “kanaph”= כָּנָף. Kanaph means “wings,” like a bird would stretch its wings. Kanaph also means the extremities, or something stretched out.
 
“You, son of man, thus says the Lord Yahweh to the land of Israel, An end: the end is come on the four corners [KANAPH] of the land.” Ezekiel 7:2 WEB
 
“He sends it forth under the whole sky, and his lightning to the ends [KANAPH] of the earth.” Job 37:3 WEB
 
Now the Flat-Earth Cult can backtrack, lie, and deny that they ever said there were four literal corners to the earth, but that would further show their deception and manipulation of the facts. There is an abundance of books, videos, maps, and written statements that the Flat-Earth Cult has made claiming there are four literal corners that surround the earth. Just look at the Orlando Ferguson map as proof that the Flat-Earth Cult believes the earth is contained in and surrounded by four literal corners.
 
Don’t let the Flat-Earth Cult manipulate and deceive their way out of admitting their map is scripturally flawed. Don’t let them change their story, because the light of God’s word shines light on the dark delusion of their maps and doctrine. The Flat-Earth Cult followers are living in a strong delusion that twist and perverts the scriptures. This is the same way Satan twists and manipulates the scriptures so that he can get people to believe his lies. Don’t fall victim to their manipulation and end up getting trapped in their delusion and scriptural errors.

The Flat-Earth Cult claims they know the dimensions of the earth, and the height of the Sun, the Moon and the top of a dome, which they claim surrounds the earth.
 
The Flat-Earth Cults supposed dome rises to a height of 3,100 miles, which is the distance of California to Maine. Not only are the Sun and Moon contained in their dome, but they also claim the entire universe is also within their dome. Yes, you heard that right. The Flat-Earth Cult believes all the stars, galaxies and planets in the heavens are all contained in their dome that surrounds the earth. In addition, the Flat-Earth Cult also thinks they understand the foundations of the earth and have images showing a thin crust lying in an Abyss of water.  With that said, the flat-earth cult clearly believes they can measure the dimensions of the universe (heavens). However, the majority of people living on planet earth know that the entire universe (heavens) cannot be measured. Even the scriptures tell us the heavens cannot be measured.
“Thus says Yahweh: If heaven above can be measured, and the foundations of the earth searched out beneath, then will I also cast off all the seed of Israel for all that they have done, says Yahweh.” Jeremiah 31:37 WEB
 
So, in this verse God is saying that if anyone thinks they can measure the heavens above and they think they understand the earth beneath then God will cast off Israel. Yet, scriptures tell us God will never cast of Israel:  
 
“I ask then, did God reject his people? May it never be! For I also am an Israelite, a descendant of Abraham, of the tribe of Benjamin. God didn't reject his people, which he foreknew...”  Romans 11:1-2 WEB
 
“For Yahweh won't reject his people, neither will he forsake his inheritance” Psalms 94:14 WEB.
 
Therefore, since God cannot reject his people then that also means the Flat-Earth Cult cannot go around teaching that they know all the dimensions and measurements of the universe contained in their dome. The bible says this is not possible. This is more proof that the Flat-Earth Cult defies the word of God and teaches error.
 

A common belief in the Flat-Earth Cult is that God created a flat earth and the earth is stationary on massive pillars as we see in the image above. The flat-earth cult gets this belief by taking poetic speech found in the scriptures and turns it into a literal interpretation to fit their dogma. However, we will see that we must be careful to distinguish poetic scripture from the literal.

The Hebrew and Aramaic language is very poetic and image driven in order to show meaning and function. The Hebrew language began as a pictorial alphabet known as Paleo Hebrew, which is similar to Egyptian hieroglyphics. Therefore, proper biblical hermeneutics (biblical interpretation) requires us to understand what is meant to be figurative (poetic) and what is meant to be taken literal. We must also discern  when lessons in parables, images, implications, typology, are used and what message are they teaching. When we hear or read the word of God, we have to ask ourselves: “what is the true message?” We must be careful to never jump into faulty interpretation by declaring the verse is speaking about a literal occurrence when it’s not. Let’s look at the following example for a better understanding of what we mean.
 
“Who can number the clouds by wisdom? Or who can pour out the bottles of the sky” Job 38:37 WEB
 
Are we to believe that there are literal water bottles in the sky and that is how we get rain? No, of course we wouldn’t and neither did the writers of scripture believe this illustration should be taken literally.
 
“Does the rain have a father? Or who fathers the drops of dew? Out of whose womb came the ice? The gray frost of the sky, who has given birth to it?” Job 38:28-29 WEB
 
Are we to believe that ice and frost come out of some woman’s womb in the sky? If we take poetic language like this and make them literal, then we can come up with all types of crazy, imaginative beliefs, which is exactly what the Flat-Earth Cult is famous for.
 
The Flat-Earth Cult needs to get it through their heads that all of these types of scriptures are just poetic language that allows the reader to hear and visualize for better understanding of the words and imagery of the message.
 
Think about how you read a book that is very literal, such as a technical manual and how hard it may be to comprehend all the technical jargon. However, if you have illustrations such as photos, diagrams, or scenarios in the technical manual, then it is much easier for you to comprehend the message.
 
Even today in our high-tech world, we still understand a message on social media much better when we see a meme as opposed to a huge post filled with words. Even videos hold our attention much more than a book does. A picture or image is much better than 10,000 words. Therefore, we need to keep this in mind when we attempt to jump to conclusions and claim every poetic verse that is filled with imagery should be taken literally. This mindset is why an atheist does not understand the word of God when it uses poetic form.  Faulty thinking and poor interpretation of scripture is why so many cults find it easy to twist the word of God and create faulty doctrines that deceive.
 
The Apostle Paul said we must know how to properly handle the scriptures so that we can gain God’s approval:  “Give diligence to present yourself approved by God, a workman who doesn't need to be ashamed, properly handling the Word of Truth.” 2 Timothy 2:15 WEB
 
Examples of the scriptures the Flat-Earth Cult perverts:

“He shakes the earth out of its place. Its pillars tremble.” Job 9:6 WEB
 
“The earth and all its inhabitants quake. I firmly hold its pillars. Selah.” Psalm 75:3 WEB
 
"Where were you when I laid the foundations of the earth? Declare, if you have understanding. Who determined its measures, if you know? Or who stretched the line on it? Whereupon were its foundations fastened? Or who laid its cornerstone” Job 38: 4-6 WEB
 
“Of old, you laid the foundation of the earth. The heavens are the work of your hands.” Psalm 102:25 WEB
 
“Father, I desire that they also whom you have given me be with me where I am, that they may see my glory, which you have given me, for you loved me before the foundation of the world.” John 17:24 WEB
 
The Flat-Earth Cult read verses about foundations and pillars with a literal viewpoint, and then their imagination runs so wild, that they design crazy models of the earth showing huge, literal, pillars supporting their flat-earth. See the image below for an example of what the flat-earth cult believe.
 
This shows what happens when you misinterpret scripture and fall into delusion as you can see in the depiction below that illustrates what the flat-earth cult believes above the earth and universe.

The scriptural truth about the foundations and pillars of the Earth
Instead of seeing the pillars and foundations of the earth as literal pillars, how should we properly interpret the scriptures that speak of pillars and foundations?
 
1. Foundations are typically, the beginning of something, the founding, and a poetic illustration of something we can build upon with the assurance of strength. Foundations are something solid that you can rely upon. Often in scripture we will see the foundations are not meant to be literal.
 
“Therefore thus says the Lord Yahweh, "Behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation a stone, a tried stone, a precious cornerstone of a sure foundation. He who believes shall not act hastily.” Isaiah 28:16 WEB
 
“He is 'the stone which was regarded as worthless by you, the builders, which has become the head of the corner.'” Acts 4:11 WEB
 
“According to the grace of God which was given to me, as a wise master builder I laid a foundation, and another builds on it. But let each man be careful how he builds on it. For no one can lay any other foundation than that which has been laid, which is Jesus Christ.” 1 Corinthians 3:10-11 WEB
 
“However God's firm foundation stands, having this seal, ‘The Lord knows those who are his,’ and, ‘Let every one who names the name of the Lord depart from unrighteousness.’” 2 Timothy 2:19 WEB
 
“being built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus himself being the chief cornerstone” Ephesians 2:20 WEB
 
Literal Error: if we take these scriptures to be literal, then we must believe that the apostles and prophets all turned into stone blocks and that the Messiah did not come in human form, but he is a literal block of stone, a cornerstone. Do you see how silly that is?
 
Therefore, when the scriptures speak of the earth as having “foundations” it means God founded the earth and built it to be a place mankind could dwell on and build on. In times of disobedience the earth has been known to move and shake at its “figurative foundations.” Prophetic scriptures tell us that the earth and its foundations will be shaken. To have the foundation that you have always trusted in, to now be shaken, and moved underneath you, is a very humbling experience. That means, you should never feel so arrogantly secure or immune from God’s wrath, that you foolishly think you can get away with sin, because he will shake the foundations you feel secure and firmly planted on.
 
“Therefore I will make the heavens tremble, and the earth will be shaken out of its place in the wrath of Yahweh of Armies, and in the day of his fierce anger.” Isaiah 13:13 WEB
 
“He shakes the earth out of its place. Its pillars tremble.”  Job 9:6 WEB
 
“Then the earth shook and trembled. The foundations also of the mountains quaked and were shaken, because he was angry.” Psalm 18:7 WEB
 
2. Pillars in the scriptures are also symbols of support. We can see them literally in buildings, but pillars in the scriptures can also symbolize people or human leadership as in the following scriptures:
 
“He who overcomes, I will make him a pillar in the temple of my God, and he will go out from there no more. I will write on him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, the new Jerusalem, which comes down out of heaven from my God, and my own new name.” Revelation 3:12 WEB
 
“For, behold, I have made you this day a fortified city, and an iron pillar, and bronze walls, against the whole land, against the kings of Judah, against its princes, against its priests, and against the people of the land.” Jerimiah 1:18 WEB [Also see: Galatians 2:9, 1 Timothy 3:15 and Revelation 10:1]
 
Literal Error: So, are believers going to be physically changed into a literal stone pillar in the temple of God in the last days? Was Jerimiah turned into a physical pillar made of iron? Of course the answer to both these questions is absolutely not. Yet, taking this illustrative language and turning it into something literal is exactly the repeated error of the Flat-Earth Cult. They make this mistake over and over again.
 
Another error that people make in biblical interpretation is putting way too much emphasis on the rule of first mention. This rule says when word or phrase is first mentioned in scripture, then that first mention defines the meaning for that word or phrase. However, this may be a good guideline, but it should never be a concrete rule to interpret all scripture. There is so much more that must be considered when “rightly dividing the word of truth” (2 Timothy 2:15). The Flat-Earth Cult has a lot to learn about biblical interpretation and they need to stop using their wild imagination to re-create the world.

Here are the scriptures the Flat-Earth Cult uses:
 
“Yahweh reigns! He is clothed with majesty! Yahweh is armed with strength. The world also is established. It can't be moved.” Psalm 93:1 WEB
 
“Say among the nations, "Yahweh reigns." The world is also established. It can't be moved. He will judge the peoples with equity” Psalm 96:10 WEB
 
“He laid the foundations of the earth, that it should not be moved forever.” Psalm 104:5 WEB
 
“Tremble before him, all the earth. The world also is established that it can't be moved” 1 Chronicles 16:30 WEB
 
With these scriptures, the Flat-Earth Cult reasons that since the earth cannot be moved, it must therefore be flat. They figure the earth could not be a rotating globe if the bible says the earth cannot be moved. In their head this sounds like a logical conclusion when they read the scriptures, but how do we reconcile that same logic when we read the scriptures and it mentions people will not be moved, in the same way it says the earth will not be moved?
 
“He that putteth not out his money to usury, nor taketh reward against the innocent. He that doeth these things shall never be moved.” Psalm 15:5 KJV
 
“I have set the LORD always before me: because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved.” Psalm 16:8 KJV
 
“Cast your burden on Yahweh, and he will sustain you. He will never allow the righteous to be moved.” Psalm 55:22 WEB
 
“A man shall not be established by wickedness, but the root of the righteous shall not be moved.” Proverbs 12:3 WEB
 
So, if we use the same logic that the flat-earth cult uses about the earth “shall not be moved” and apply it to people, as described in the verses listed above, then we must come to the conclusion that the righteous will never walk, the will never turn, and they can never move at all?
 
The scriptures referencing the earth “shall not be moved” and the scriptures referencing people “shall not be moved” all used the same word for “moved,” which is the Hebrew word: מוֹט – Mot, which is pronounced: Mote. Therefore, we are using the exact same words for the earth and for people. Yet, it’s not logical to conclude that people can never move in their daily life and we also cannot conclude that the earth cannot move, rotate, or orbit as well.
 
So what are the scriptures really saying when it tells us the earth and people “shall not be moved”?
 
As we said previously, the Hebrew word for “moved,” is מוֹט – Mot. This word means: to be brought down, moved, fall off course, or to slip. This word has nothing to do with the earth’s ability to spin on its axis, or to naturally rotate in an orbit that the creator ordained. In the same way “Mot” does not restrict people who “shall not be moved” from moving around, walking, or turning left or right on a journey.
 
What the scriptures are emphasizing by using this word (Mot) is that the earth will not natural fall off course, or naturally slips out of orbit. It means the righteous are not meant to be shaken, slip, or falter off the path of righteousness.
 
However, we do know that despite the fact the scriptures say the righteous “will not be moved” off their course of holiness, it does happen when the righteous yield to temptations, and sin. This is not supposed to happen. The righteous are not supposed to be moved of track, which is the perfect will of God, but it can happen. Adam, was not supposed to “be moved” off course, but he yielded to temptation and as we know, Adam was moved off course. In the same way, the earth is not designed to move off course, it’s not supposed to break its orbit, it’s not supposed to stop rotating, but sin and judgement will eventually cause the earth to be moved when the wrath of God falls on this planet.
Although the Flat-Earth Cult won’t admit it, or can’t see it, the scriptures do say the world will be moved and destroyed one day in God’s judgement.
 
“Therefore I will make the heavens tremble, and the earth will be shaken out of its place in the wrath of Yahweh of Armies, and in the day of his fierce anger.” Isaiah 13:13 WEB

The Flat-Earth Cult states that the earth has solid foundations and that means it cannot be moved, but if they truly read the scriptures in context then they would see that the earth will be moved in the day of God’s wrath. Therefore, their flat-earth model, that they claim is fixed and unable to be moved, will definitely be moved and destroyed.
 
If the Flat-Earth Cult interpreted scriptures properly, then they would easily see the true meaning of the phrase “shall not be moved” and that it does not mean the earth cannot rotate, or move in an orbit.
 
The bible says the righteous “shall not be moved,” but no one in their right mind would ever claim the scriptures are stating the righteous cannot move about, walk, or turn. Why then does the Flat-Earth Cult make this ridicules claim about the earth? It only shows their ignorance of the scriptures and their eagerness to twist the word of God in order to make their delusion valid.

If the earth is going to turn upside down, weaken, grow feeble, brake down, teeter, move, stagger, act like a drunkard and move back and forth, then only the spinning globe can fit that description, because the fixed flat-earth cannot move back and forth, turn upside down, stagger and act like a dunkard.

This is yet another scriptural fact that proves the Flat-Earth Cult teaches errors that go against the word of God. However, this is also proof that the bible teaches the earth is a globe and not stuck in some imaginary man-made box like the Orlando Ferguson map depicts.

So far, we have provided enough scriptural evidence to prove the Flat-Earth Cult teaches many false beliefs, but we will continue to refute more of their errors and prove to our readers that this cult will lead you into a strong delusion as it defies and mocks the word of God.

jhjhj    The Moon is a lot like the night time darkness it governs (Genesis 1:16). The Moon may appear white from earth, but actually the Moon is very dark, a dark grey that is not the best reflector of light.

In fact, there is a scale called the Albedo (whiteness) ratio that is used to indicate how well a surface reflects the Sun’s energy. The range runs from 0 = which is totally black and an excellent absorber of solar energy to 1 = which is totally white and means it’s a perfect reflector of solar energy. Our Moon's average visual albedo is 0.12, which means it reflects back only 12% of the light that comes from the Sun. For comparison, the average albedo of the earth is about 0.30. On earth, the albedo of snow is 0.90, 0.40 for desert sand, 0.70 for water, and clouds can go up to albedo of 0.90.

However, despite what might appear to be personal characteristic flaw in the Moon’s reflective qualities, the Moon will always reflects the exact amount of Sunlight the creator designed. Therefore, the Moon perfectly fulfills its ordained purpose in the heavens. This proves that God can make possible and perfect what appears to be impossible and imperfect.

Many in the Flat-Earth Cult want to rob God of his glory by stating that the Moon is not a reflector of the Suns light as he created it, but that the Moon actually produces its own light. However, in the photo above, you can clearly see shadows on the surface of the Moon, which confirms the Moon cannot produce its own light, but is just a reflector.

No matter if you use sophisticated telescopes, or cheap amateur telescopes, you can clearly see the Moon’s surface with craters and shadows at certain phases of the Moon.

These shadows in the craters would not happen if the moon produced its own light. Think of a bright light bulb and how it illuminates the whole surface of the bulb. If the Moon was a giant lightbulb in the sky, as some claim it is, then the Moon would not have shadows in the craters on its surface. The evidence of shadows on the Moon clearly shows us that the Moon reflects light and does not produce its own light like the Sun does.

We even saw by the Albedo scales that the earth reflects more light from the Sun and back toward space than the Moon. However, you never hear anyone from the Flat-Earth Cult making the outrages claim that the earth, snow, or clouds produced their own light as they say the Moon does with a lower Albedo score.

What about the scriptures that say the Moon produces its own light?

OK, let’s list a few of those scriptures that talks about the light of the Moon.

1. “God made the two great lights: the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night. He also made the stars.” Genesis 1:16 WEB

2. “For the stars of the sky and its constellations will not give their light. The sun will be darkened in its going forth, and the moon will not cause its light to shine.” Isaiah 13:10 WEB

3. “When I shall extinguish you, I will cover the heavens, and make its stars dark; I will cover the sun with a cloud, and the moon shall not give its light.” Ezekiel 32:7 WEB

Many people in the Flat-Earth Cult will read these scriptures listed above and walk away from their bible convinced the scriptures teach that the Moon literally produces its own light.  Is this true?

The biblical words for light:

Genesis 1:16 the Hebrew word for light is “maor/maowr” and in Isaiah 13:10 and Ezekiel 32:7 the word for light is “or/owr.”

Or/Owr (אוֹר): Occurs in about 123 verses throughout the Tanakh (Old Testament), and is the most often used word for all forms of light in the scriptures. Owr can be used for the light of the Sun, Moon, stars, for daylight, dawn, lightning, lamp light, the shine of a face, and the light of knowledge and revelation. Therefore, you can see that this word light has a very broad definition. It can be light or it can shine or reflect light, illuminate.

Maor/Maowr (מָאוֹר): Occurs in 16 verses throughout the Tanakh (Old Testament), and like “owr” its usage can also go beyond just the lights of the Sun, Moon and stars. This word is also used for the light of the Menorah, brightness, cheerful eyes and the presence of God. Maowr is a luminary that lights something.

Since either words (Owr & Maowr) are either luminaries, or they refers to the action of illumination, these two words can either be the source of light, or something that reflects or receives light. There is nothing in the Hebrew words alone that would give a concrete determination that the Moon is the source of light. Either Hebrew word for light can also show the Moon is a reflector instead of a light source. Therefore, you cannot claim the Hebrew Scriptures makes an absolute confirmation that the Moon is a source of its own light, because the Hebrew Scriptures could also confirm the Moon is just a reflector of light.

Here are some scriptural examples

1. Verses that use the word “maowr” include:

 “The lampstand also for the light, with its vessels, its lamps, and the oil for the light” Exodus 35:14 WEB

“The light of the eyes rejoices the heart…” Proverbs 15:30 WEB

The lampstand may be a source of light, but do human eyes shoot out beams of light and illuminate a room? Of course not, but in both verses the Hebrew word maowr is used.

2. Verses that use the word “owr” include:

“The light of the righteous shines brightly, but the lamp of the wicked is snuffed out.” Proverbs 13:9 WEB

“For, behold, darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the peoples; but Yahweh will arise on you, and his glory shall be seen on you. Nations shall come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your rising.” Isaiah 60:2-3 WEB

“…I will also give you for a light to the nations, that you may be my salvation to the end of the earth." Isaiah 49:6 WEB

All these verses use the word “owr” for light, so are we to assume that Israel and the righteous produce their own light? Are we to assume that God made the nation of Israel and the righteous a physical light that is equal to the Moon and the Sun? Of course not, these verses are showing that the righteous and Israel are a spiritual lights to the world. However, even as spiritual lights Israel and the righteous still do not produce “their own light,” but only act as a reflector of the light of God on earth to the nations and people on the earth.

What did we learn?

As we stated earlier, you cannot read a few scriptures, take them literally and then claim the Moon gives off light, or shines its light. We cannot make definitive statements that the Moon produces its own light like the Sun does. The Hebrew words used for light do not support that definitive proclamation that only means a light producer, becuae the Hebrew words can also be a light reflector.

Let’s further refute the Flat-Earth Cults faulty teaching about the Moon.

1. A second look at Hebrew

There are other words in the Hebrew Scriptures that may give us a clue into the characteristic of the Moon. Nagah/Nogah (נָגַהּ), means glitter, shine, lighten, or to reflect. This description never speaks about the Sun with the exception of 2 Samuel 23:4, which only speaks of how the morning sunlight glistens through the rain, on top of sprouting grass, which shows the word is not speaking about the Sun itself, but only how the sunlight glitters, or reflects off the rain on top of the grass and brightens the morning. However, Nagah/Nogah is directly used for the Moon as seen in the following scriptures:

“For the stars of the sky and its constellations will not give their light. The sun will be darkened in its going forth, and the moon will not cause its light to shine [glitter, reflect].” Isaiah 13:10 WEB

“To thee no more is the sun for a light by day, And for brightness [glitter, shine, reflection] the moon giveth not light to thee, And Jehovah hath become to thee A light age-during, and thy God thy beauty.” Isaiah 60:19 WEB

Here we can see the Moon is more reflective and unlikely to produce its own light, which goes against the claims of the Flat-Earth Cult.

2. The Sun and Moon are not the same in size or power

“There is one glory [Greek: Doxa] of the sun, another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars; for one star differs from another star in glory.” 1 Corinthians 15:41 WEB

The word “Doxa” in Greek means value, the manifestation of God, which something like the Moon can reflect the creative glory of God. Here we see the Sun, Moon, and Stars all have different qualities and unique manifestations of the glory of God, which proves they are not equal.

“God made the two great lights: the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night. He also made the stars.” Genesis 1:16 WEB
In this verse we can see the Moon is considered a “lesser light.” The Sun being the “greater light” is greater in its magnitude, its size, its heat, and its intensity, whereas the Moon is lesser (Hebrew = qatan, קָטָן, smaller).  This alone refutes the Flat-Earth Cult’s claim that the Sun and Moon are equal in size.

3. Does the Blood Moon prove the earth rotates?

“I saw when he opened the sixth seal, and there was a great earthquake. The sun became black as sackcloth made of hair, and the whole moon became as blood.” Revelation 6:12

Here we see a great earthquake that takes place and what appears to be ash or dust launched in the air that immediately blackens the Sun. However, the Moon is not totally dark as the Sun is, but instead, the Moon turns red like blood. This means the Moon must have some small amount of light from the Sun that it continues to reflect. How can this happen if the Sun is more powerful than the Moon?

The possible answer is the rotating globe

What if the Sun was on one side of the earth where the earthquake occurred, and the Moon was on the other side of the earth, and what if the reflective light of the Moon was not get heavily impacted by the dust and ash from the seismic activity that impacted the Sun? This would allow for the light of the Sun to be completely blocked and cause one side of the globe to go dark. However, the Sun still shinning in space will still reflect on the Moon, which can still shine through the smaller amount of dust and ash on the opposite side of the globe from the earthquake. This scenario would allow the Moon’s reflective light to appear red like blood and thus fulfill prophecy.

This scenario and explanation of a dark Sun and red Moon cannot occur on a flat-earth, but could easily occur on a globe, which is tilted on its axis, and spinning along, dragging its atmosphere with it.

4. The function of the Moon

5. Is there an unseen object that partners with the Moon?

The Flat-Earth Cult claims there is an unseen object that causes the phases of the Moon and eclipses. However, they have yet to provide a single scripture to prove this. You would think with the importance of the Sun and Moon to set appointed feasts, days, and months, that God would mention this object, so that we can properly calculate our feast days and set our calendars. However, there is no mention of this mysterious object in the scriptures, because this mysterious object does not exist, except in the mind of the Flat-Earth Cult.

Yes. We already discussed how the blood moon incident can prove the rotation of a spherical earth, but let’s look at a few more. We will start with a look at one of the most popular verses of scripture that people actually use to prove and disprove the earth is a globe. The reason for the confusion is that few people know how to properly interpret this verse, which is Isaiah 40:22.

“It is he who sits above the circle of the earth, and its inhabitants are like grasshoppers; who stretches out the heavens like a curtain, and spreads them out like a tent to dwell in” Isaiah 40:22 WEB

The Flat-Earth Cult’s Argument:
They say the Hebrew word for “circle” [chug] in this verse never means a globe or sphere, but only a flat circle that resembles their flat-earth map.

HOWEVER THE FLAT-EARTH CULTS INTERPRETATION OF THE EARTH IS WRONG

The Hebrew word for circle is “Chug,” but we can take this word even further to its root origin and we find another Hebrew word: “Chagag,” which means to celebrate, to march in a procession as Israel did when it marched around Jericho, or to dance. In Middle East cultures people often danced rotating in a circle.

Chagag is also the root word for Chagga, which means to REVOLVE. This is even further confirmation and shows us that the word for circle used in Isaiah 40:22 represents movement like a spherical earth in rotation. This is totally the opposite from the Flat-Earth Cult’s interpretation of a fixed, immovable, flat earth. In fact, the Flat-Earth Cult tries to make a point that if Isaiah wanted to show a globe, he would have used the Hebrew word “Dur,” which means a ball. However, “Dur” also means a pile, a heap, an encampment, or to dwell, which is more representative of something stationary rather than something in a circular movement described by the words Chug, Chagag, or Chagga.  It appears Isaiah knew exactly the right word to use to describe the spinning globe we call earth.
 
Need further proof Isaiah 40:22 is talking about a spinning, spherical earth? 
 
The Septuagint (LXX), the ancient translation of the Hebrew Scriptures into Greek, translates the Hebrew word for circle [chug], which is found in Isaiah 40:22, into the Greek word “gyros.” Gyros means a turning sphere, or revolution, like meat revolving on a vertical spit, or it can also represents rotation, such as the rotating earth. This is also where we get the word “gyroscope” [a rotating spinning wheel on axis].
 
Did you know the Greek Gyro sandwich, which is made of sliced lamb and vegetables inside a pita bread wrap, was named a “Gyro,” because the lamb is cooked on a vertical spit that spins? The globe earth also spins like a vertical, rotating spit, or a like gyroscope. The Flat-Earth Cult’s interpretation of Isaiah 40:22 is totally wrong. Isaiah 40:22 does not describe a flat circle, as the Flat-Earth Cult wants us to believe. However, Isaiah 40:22 is definitely describing a spherical, spinning earth like a gyroscope, just as God created it and the Jewish translators of the Septuagint confirmed it. Proverbs 8:27 agrees with Isaiah 40:22 that the earth is a rotating sphere.
 
Proverbs 8:27 says: “He [God] set [inscribed, or decreed] a circle on [over] the face [root word - “panah” which means to “turn”] of the depths or oceans”.  Therefore, the original Hebrew can be interpreted as follows:
 
“…God decreed a circle over the turn of the oceans.” Proverbs 8:27
 
Like Isaiah 40:22, the word circle in this verse is the Hebrew word “Chug,” which not only means a circle and a sphere as described in Isaiah 40:22, but it also describes the horizon that surrounds the curve of the globe as the earth rotates and the oceans make up the majority of the earth.

We can see in this illustration the horizon that surrounds the earth as a curved arch of light. Proverbs 8:27 proves the earth is not flat, but a globe. Our spherical earth rotates (turning of the oceans) into the horizon and when we look at the original Hebrew and the root origins of the words, we can clearly see that Proverbs 8:27 is describing a rotating spherical earth.

“He made all the stars--the Bear and Orion, the Pleiades and the constellations of the southern sky.” Job 9:9 NLT

“Which maketh Arcturus, Orion, and Pleiades, and the chambers of the south.” Job 9:9 KJV

Orion and Pleiades can be seen in New Zealand, but Ursula Major (The Great Bear Constellation) cannot. In like manner, people in Egypt can also see the Southern Cross at different time of the year, but there are other stars in the Southern Hemisphere that cannot be seen from Egypt.
One of the biggest challenges for the Flat-Earth Cult is explaining why people below the Equator have difficulty seeing the North Star – Polaris and why some stars, like Sigma Octantis in the Southern Hemisphere, are completely hidden from people in the Northern Hemisphere.

The Flat-Earth Cult comes up with some imaginative explanations to explain the differences between the Northern and Southern skies from blaming the problem on vortexes, mirrors, to laser beam projectors on the mythical dome. The bottom line is that if the flat-earth was true then people in Australia, New Zealand, and South Africa should see Polaris easily and people in the North should easily see stars that are only visible south of the Equator. Even more so, why can’t the major observatories south of the Equator see Polaris?

This is all a huge problem for the Flat-Earth Cult.

“He made all the stars--the Bear and Orion, the Pleiades and the constellations of the southern sky.” Job 9:9 NLT

“Which maketh Arcturus, Orion, and Pleiades, and the chambers of the south.” Job 9:9 KJV

It was revealed to Job that there were certain stars that were hidden from his view that are south of his location. To express this, Job used a Hebrew word that would best be understood by the people of his day. He used the Hebrew word: “Cheder” which is associated with “Chadar,” which describes a private room, a bedroom, or a concealed area behind a curtain. This does not mean it’s an area that is blocked, impassible, or off limits, but one that is simply behind a curtain and not seen by everyone.
 
Therefore, Job knew that there was an area on the globe that contained certain stars and constellation that were concealed from his view, thus showing that Job 9:9 is describing a globe.

“Thou hast understanding, Even unto the broad places of earth! Declare -- if thou hast known it all.” Job 38:18 YLT

The original Hebrew reads: “Have you perceived even up to the broad place of the earth…?”

This was a question God asked Job and as we can see from the original Hebrew, there is an area of the earth that is different in size from the rest of the earth, which is called the “broad place.” In the flat-earth model there is no “broad place” because their flat circle is the same size all around.

On the flat-earth map there is no “broad place” set apart from the rest of the flat-earth. The diameter of the flat-earth map is the same all the way around. On the globe, the Equator is much broader than the rest of the globe. Therefore, the globe agrees with Job 38:18.

A fact about the globe that proves Job 38:18 and refutes the flat-earth:

Mount Everest: has an altitude of 29,035 feet (the highest altitude in the world)

Mount Chimborazo: has an altitude of 20,703 feet (the furthest point from the earth’s center)

Chimborazo is located in Ecuador along the Equator, so if you stood on the top of Chimborazo you would actually be closer to space than if you stood on Mount Everest. Why? Because of the Equatorial bulge, which is what Job 38:18 calls the “broad place of the Earth.”
