The Mandela Effect was first described by a blogger who attended the 2010 Dragon Con, costume play/cosplay for sci-fi, fantasy and gamers. The electronic interface is of paramount importance as to electromagnetic radiation exposures and related factors influencing--and deranging--our perception.
The Mandela Effect was so named for a plethora of people "remembering" that Nelson Mandela died in prison. One notorious false memory is that of the Bible passage of the "lion laying down with the lamb." But the real Bible citation of Isaiah says the wolf will lay down with the lamb; the leopard/lion will lay down with the lamb/sheep/kid.
The likelihood is not that some quantum effect is changing cultural artifacts as has been posited, but that our cognitive functioning is losing some of the Christmas tree branches upon which to hang a wider variety of categories and relational options, leaving a spindly stick of certitude, possibly the great delusion mentioned in the Bible for the latter days.
For example, instead of category options regarding the memory file for "the lion will lay down with the lamb" there is a loss of mental flexibility that might realize that pop literature might have repeated this meme more frequently than Sunday services quoted the Bible because the meme has a nice alliterative structure. The false certitude engendered by various environmental assaults on cognition corners one into the "somebody changed the Bible to 'wolf and lamb.'"
The first line of defense is brain protection: food that feeds the Hippocampus involved in learning, memory and sleep quality and quantity; the choline found in egg yolks and soy lecithin; proper antioxidants that cross the blood-brain barrier like selenium and L-Lipoic Acid; and avoidance of anti-foods like inflammatory oils and phake phats that are like feeding our starving lipo-protein dog of a brain a rubber bone. This nicely parallels Dr. Joel (DEAD DOCTORS DON'T LIE)Wallach's counsel with his emphasis on down-home lipids like butter and eggs as well as supportive arrays of vitamins and minerals.
Colin Wilson noted in his book, THE OUTSIDER, that 5% of humans are resistant to brainwashing. So in our midst, there are probably a fixed percentage of humans that are immune to the morphological, chemical and electrical insults assailing modern brains.
Technology gave us: solvent exposure that melts brains, including the oxidizer in gasoline that first induced "road rage"; FrankenFoods and demineralized, irritating food as nitrate fertilizer burned minerals from fragile soil colloids; electromagnetic/EMF fields that open cell portals to leak their guts out and let in toxins; hypnotic flashing media that can entrain the brain or even induce epilepsy seen in Japan; literal structural brain changes to those addicted to computer gaming; and a sedentary deathstyle that refuses to walk when waking acts like the brain-boosting "patterning" used in therapy for those with neurological damage.
The stressed thyroid is the camp ground for the forgotten parathyroid that regulates blood calcium levels. One type of dementia is caused by calcification of the brain and mid-brain glands that can be the result of parathyroid stress from: a sub-acute infection; systemic fungus/yeast from Antibiotic use; radiation exposure as from hours spent near routers; mycoplasm as deployed in the Gulf War; and auto-immune responses from things like FrankenFoods. The effect of a sick parathyroid laying down calcium in a hyperactive attempt to quench any demineralized inflamed tissue with calcium is aggravated by fluoride that will slap that trash calcium down like mad in everything from bone spurs, into muscles while inducing Fibromyalgia effects, and into the precious brain causing a certain reversible dottiness. A blood calcium level might disclose the basis for THE MANDELA EFFECT.
WHY ARE...? WHY ARE WE QUESTIONING THE KING JAMES BIBLE AND NOT OURSELVES? Because this is one of the boiled frog effects. I know what I know what I know. COGITO ERGO SUM. I think, therefore I am. Better we should lightheartedly question ourselves and proclaim, "I think, therefore I think I am. And have some eggs.
