Is the rock transparent ? How did you see through it to find the "hydra"?
Are you sure it's "hydra" ? Might just be air bubbles? Or plant originated?

A quick Google search did not show hydra as a human pathogen, instead, several pathogens can infect hydra.
Are you sure hydra is the culprit.

Your photos showed samilar shape but what About the scale? Have you compared the documented size of hydra with your observation？
