Thanks, BlueRose!  I'm in a very good emotional space and I'm beginning to sort out some of the physical/medical issues.  It's one-step-at-a-time for me, and I'm where I need to be.

Yeah - just keep it superficial and keep in mind that you aren't obligated to engage with anyone, even if they're "family."  Even to support the one surviving family member, it could have a negative impact because SHE needs to sort out her own boundaries, etc.  Either she will, or she won't, but the best thing you could do to "help" her is to suggest that she seek a strong, mature counseling therapist so that she can set her boundaries and begin recovering from her dreadful losses.
