Hey, sorry. I have not logged into this site, for awhile.
With my own experience, I never felt it was necessary to gradually increase the dose, over time. For many people, it seems like this makes a lot of sense to them, on paper. But in actual pratice, i think it is a mistake to hold onto the idea that you should be consistently increasing dose size.
With each substance, i would try to establish a dose which noticeably worked for me and then I would just stick with that.
Listen to your body. Occasionally, you may feel an intuition that you should increase your dose size temporarily, for a few doses. sometimes I would do this, if I hit a plateau or if I could feel that a large pocket of mercury/metals was trying to be removed.
If something isn't working for you. You may not have much heavy metals in the parts of the body where that substance is effective.
DMSA wasn't very useful for me, at first. Because most of my mercury and heavy metals, seemed to be deeper. More embedded into my lymph and body nerves. Because of this, I could feel most of it as it came out. Sometimes it hurts. It didn't matter if I lowered the dose. when Mercury comes out of me, it hurts in a very specific way. Even as I am peeing it out.
P.S. ALA comes out in urine, too. ; )
Your kidneys will feel it, if you take too large of a dose for both ALA or DMSA.
ALA was really amazing for me for a long time, because it cleans out your lymph and gets much closer to your peripheral and body nerves. DMSA worked well as a companion, to help make sure everything came out. If I just took ALA, some of it would resettle as "body burden" and I would have to take DMSA later anyway, to get that out. So I took both at the same time.
