Hi there peeps (Lexi) I feel your frustration. I've had DE for nearly 21 years now started when I was 6 years old after I fell ill with scarlet fever. It comes and go's as it pleases but seems to occur with the pattern of seasonal changes. I can also sense it coming at this stage as my hands would start sweating profusely a couple of weeks prior to the onset of symptoms. It starts out with the formation of the characteristic pompholyx or fluid filled bubbles on the fingers and soles of feet after a couple of weeks the bubbles will subside and the flaking and pealing of skin would occur. Doctors are useless in treating DE even highly specialized dermatologists and and a quick cure, actually a cure in general is a myth (well seems to be). I've tried allot of remedies even adjusting my diet sometimes but always to no avail.
Recently I read a comment on a DE forum that said one should use aloe vera moisturizer. I went and bought the most expensive one I could find and yet discouraged started applying. Up to 20 times a day. This was a 100% aloe vera moisturizer enriched with vitamin E (Palmers). I used rubber gloves whenever washing dishes or dogs and even myself. Washing my hands I used a natural Rooibos soap and only that. Stay away from irritants such as chemicals. Within 2 weeks of this routine my DE cleared up completely. Absolutely no sign of DE. I'm not saying this is the cure as I'm a pessimist when it comes to curing/relieving DE but it definitely help me this time round.

Best of luck from someone who wishes that a f-ing genius will come up with a permanent cure for DE.
