I'm really not sure I can answer this adequately as my gut was impaired long before I began my own CS treatment as a result of long term Antibiotics .

That said, I've recently discovered that taking freshly made ionic solutions by placing and holding under the tongue can be just as effective as swallowing it. And so I'd present this as an alternative in cases where there are concerns for the flora.
