"Did the bill pass?" - best I can tell thus far, no.

Pardon my sarcasm but it is this type of specimen news-worthy story that routinely goes unreported or under-reported by MSM that kicks up my sense of such. Being an apparent Republican Yay agenda, did anyone notice FOX saturating the airwaves with reports of the current state of this bill's failure? Being an apparent Democratic Nay agenda, did anyone notice NBC, ABC, CBS and all the other supposed liberal-friendly outlets saturating airwaves accordingly?

From the aforementioned links, this bill vote lacked 60 senators voting yay, tallying 49Yay, 48Nay and 3obstained ... er, did not vote due to necessities of campaign 16'.

As you are likely well aware, in politics, "no" does not always mean no longterm, it means there is a need for yay-sayers to redouble their lobbying efforts as needed to manufacture a pretext for voting on the issue in question over and over until no becomes yes. For now, this appears to be tied to the "compromise" effort alluded to in the aforementioned / linked articles.
