"Equilibrium organs are called statocysts. They contain statoliths (stones) made with dense material such as calcium or magnesium salts crystals which are in contact with specialized cells."
"some biological structures which seem to be shared between various phyla, which were often widely separated in the evolutionary tree. These structures are implicated in spatial location for these critters, and these structures also play a role in humans.
It's surprising to find such a sophisticated process in other creatures, but particularly in marine zooplankton, including the larval stages of primitive animals."

Recently found on a removed pain patch, was this clear gelatinous thing that has the beginning structure of hydra. There are "black dots" spaced on the tentacles, and what appears to be a statolith or statocyst on the body column.
This internet pic of hydra's dense nerve net looks like "connect the dots".
This flat clear,"organism"?? was also on the pain patch, and also has a tentacle statocyst! :
Statolith reference pics from the internet:
IF we became so over grown infested with an organism that used statocysts to navigate, would it start to throw off our own "navigating apparatus"(stones)?? Vertigo? brain fog?
Especially when nearby to electro-anything?
An experiment using shrimp, replaced their normal sand statocyst with metal filings. A strong electro-magnet held above the tank then caused them to start swimming upside down crazy. A single ocean shrimp, with a sand statocyst, was added to the tank and it was the only one that swam upright.
