Salt water is not a powerful antibacterial. It is helpful for low grade infections and as a preventative measure against bacteria but its simply not going to do anything against the inflammatory processes at play in EC.

That said, using salt water is a hell of a lot better than using mouthwash which destroys your good oral bacteria. The only good place for mouthwash is the trash can.
