Mine got worse when I kept pulling the skin off and then doing the leave it alone method a year later. That's when my upper lip started peeling.

I've read some people on here actually cured their ec with Aquaphor after a few weeks. Well, when you apply the Aquaphor, the hard skin will turn white and soft. Just gently whipe the white skin off and reapply aqua. Don't let your lips dry out. Apply as many times as you can and eventually the lips will stop building up dead skin. I don't know if this will cure you but it's worth a shot. My lips are still inflamed but the peeling slowed down and I've only been doing this for a few weeks now.
