Note: Vertical drops are specified, horizontal drops deliver almost 2 x more mg

So the rule of thumb says, 0.08mg Iodine per pound of body weight and if your child is 25 lbs, then 25x.08mg = 2mg a day or 14mg per week. I think 1 drop a day for 5 days a week is close enough for government work.
