I know this message is old but it's also worth mentioning that hookworms can get disseminated through out the body.

I have a problem swallowing because of an autoimmune condition. The hookworms can hang out and migrate to the sinuses, etc.

I have hookworms, didn't know they drew that much blood, it sucks (no pun intended) because every morning (afternoon actually) when I get up I feel like I've been run over by a truck (the fatigue from the blood loss I suppose)
