"I am not God, but as we are well aware God is a very loving God.

I could be wrong, but I would imagine that there are Athiests who have good hearts and are very genuinely seeking the truth who move the heart of God. To say that someone such as this would not be saved by God is not my place to say.

IE an atheist who saves drowning children only to drown himself while saving them...."

And this is typical of Catholicism. All day long they will say they believe we are saved by grace through faith and not works, but they contradict themselves in everything else they say.

This atheist that saves drowning children could possibly be saved why? Atheists don't have faith in Jesus Christ. That would contradict the very definition of what an atheist believes. But because they do some good works, they could possibly be saved in your view?

Only the righteousness of Christ will save anyone, not someone's genuineness, or sincerity, or good works.
