" based on the equation I gave from scripture that Christ gave himself up for the church, and he says he will lose none of those given to him, then if the church means the Catholic church, then something isn't adding up right in the equation unless everyone in the Catholic Church is saved, and you said that clearly they won't all be saved."
This is not a correct interpretation in that people have free will to Choose to come to God or to fall like the demons. The more a person chooses to sin, the more likely they are going to hell. Baptism is a good start, but it's not enough for a full life of sin. In the end it's your own soul to lose, Catholic or otherwise.
"Luther and others didn't rebel against the one true church. They rebelled against the false church that was teaching the people lies and keeping them from the truth of scripture."
Wrong, Luther usurped authority going against the word of God and established a new church full of false doctrine. While the Catholic Church charging money for indulgences was completely wrong... It does not mean you make your own church, your own bible, and destroy the sacrament of marriage. The Catholic church also never hid the bible, this is Protestant propaganda. The true reformer of the Church was St. Francis of Assisi, he restored the true ways of the church when it was in decline around 1200 ad
The Catholic Church has something called the magisterium to properly interpret scripture. This is based on the Tradition of the church which extends from the understanding of scripture since the time of the Jews before Christ. By not following this you wind up with problems such as those in the Protestant churches of today.
Here is a video by a prominent convert to Catholicism from Protestantism. He was a Presbyterian minister who they call. "Luther in Reverse". He believed all the Protestant propaganda, but when he started looking into scripture and the history of the church he learned the truth and converted.
