I have tried chlorine dioxide in a netipot with salt water. Since a netipot holds about 8 oz, your suggestion of 8 drops (1 drop/oz) is way to strong for the nostrils and would really hurt.

However, I have had good success using 6 drops of Lugol's in the netipot with salt water. It works and doesn't hurt.
