since I stopped licking my lips for the last 2 weeks or so, ive noticed they are not healing. they have pealed maybe 3 or 4 times after 3 days. they are getting worse. the scab is getting bigger and more dry. it just feels like I need to lick them but im not so its hard. ive been drinking a lot of water almost 8 glasses a day and soaking the water on my lips. this is not helping, I thought it was dehydration of the cells of the lips but it appears its not. I got through the past 7 or 8 years by moisturizing with saliva and I never had a problem althought the triangle on upper lip never healed. I think I will always have the triangle scar there, maybe once you bite off the triangle on upper lip it stays like that forever. im going to go back to licking them, but im going to keep trying not licking them and using just water to moisturize them for maybe another week or two, but the scab just keeps getting bigger and more nasty. I think you need to lick them.
