Last week at the grocery there wasn't one regular banana to be found... The little finger type were there, but the rest of the table looked stark naked.
"Bananas as we know them may be at serious risk. According to a report from the Washington Post, a fungus called Panama Disease is threatening the strain of bananas that are sold in markets around the world. In the mid 20th century, the Gros Michel was the most popular variety of banana in the world. Panama Disease first arose in Australia in the 19th century, before making its way across the ocean and rendering banana trees in the western hemisphere useless."
