If you look for vitamin b6 toxicity you will find a lot of information. That aside the dermatologist suggested those things because he doesn't actually know what to say. Furthermore, doctors are experts in disease not health, this is why they are in the business of selling creams and ointments with the occasional anecdotal piece of advice. The 'normal dosage' is affected by age, height, weight, body mass composition and indivdual body chemistry, not to mention individual diet. There is no one size fits all for these things and as I said before a balanced diet is enough to meet your dietary needs, perhaps with the exception of B12 and vitamin D which the body cannot manufacture.
The reason you see improvements in your health and appearance is probably because a) you wanted to believe they were making a positive difference to this and b) you became more mindful of what you were eating and probably ended up choosing healthier options as a result of this awareness, which improved these issues in a real sense. A plant based diet has proven to be most effective for health and in helping digestion due to the fibre and vitamin content. I've noticed improvements in my dermatitis on my face and head from eliminating dairy for example. Taking a step back though, these are side issues. Your lip trauma is a seperate entity, it is a wound that will still try to heal the same way regardless of whether you eat junk food or you are super healthy. Again if you relate to Daniel Miller's videos his diet was not particularly clean until after his lips were healed. Sorry to be a downer, but I've been taking shots in the dark at this problem for most of my adult life and I've learned some things in this time.
