Yes I haven't had to take any dead skin off my lips for about a month and a half now, and yes that's what I've been doing for the past 2 weeks.

Yes aquaphor should be fine. I personally don't use it because I'm allergic to some of the ingredients but If it causes your lips no irritation it should be fine
