Roughly 4.5 years ago I suddenly got a migraine which has refused to go away and insists on progressively becoming worse. I now know that it is known as a status migraine. Over the past 4.5 years it has gone from just a really intense and unrelenting migraine to a neurodegenerative condition with symptoms of multiple sclerosis and parkinson's disease, as well as gastroparesis and peripheral neuropathy. These are just symptoms though, that I believe are due to the extreme pressure being exerted on my brain and nervous system because of the severity of my migraine and the intensity and duration of my condition. I went the medical route at first and took far too many pills, which sometimes made me worse, but never any better. Then I turned to natural remedies and alternative healing practices. No more side effects making me worse but nothing seems to keep up with the intensity of my pain. I'll try something new and it'll seem to be working but then my migraine has an "episode" in which my condition worsens once again and what was working no longer works. It has gotten so bad that for the past year I have been intermittent fasting because my stomach refuses to digest most nutrients and a lot of foods trigger my pain to intensify. I have discovered that only eating during a small window each day allows my stomach to calm down before torturing it some more. During this past year I have experimented with various fasting lengths and every time I fast my symptoms decrease, my stomach hurts less, my brain is not as foggy, I sleep better, and I have more energy. If I eat more often, or I eat gluten, dairy, Sugar or certain meats I am practically guaranteed to trigger another "episode" of increased intensity. I have been consistently eating only during a small window of time each day for an entire year now and I have done a few 36 hour fasts and a few two day fasts. I am now planning to go on a longer fast. I feel the difference in my health when I fast and every time I end a fast I regret it. I am hoping anyone with experience with longer fasts for health reasons will have some advice for me. Or anyone with similar symptoms with experience in natural remedies and alternative healing methods knows of anything that has helped them. I appreciate your time.
