Thank you for adding this. Receiving Christ has to come from your heart, which means your innermost being, in order to truly experience the spiritual birth that the Bible talks about. If you just say words, with no meaning from your heart, as you call on the name of the Lord and if you are not willing to truly repent of your sins and renew your mind with His Word, there is no true salvation.

The Bible says we must repent in order to be saved. Repentance is more than just saying you're sorry. Repentance is true sorrow for your sins and a turning from them. Repentance is something we walk in daily if we are truly born from above.

If we have truly been born from above and now are a new creature in Christ, we will be driven to develop an intimate relationship with God. We will talk to Him in prayer for you cannot get to know someone intimately without communication.

"And this is the way to have eternal life—to know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, the one you sent to earth." John 17:3
