I definitely hope you get some relief from your illness. It sounds like you've suffered with it for a long time. I hope you get some relief. It's really not easy, being chronically ill is it.

The reason Iodine may kill off other pathogens is because it is a major immune booster. There is an immune pathway called the myloperoxidase pathway - and Iodine is more or less a fuel for it. This pathway is especially powerful for pathogens. So it makes a lot of sense Iodine did that for you (had similar experience here). Iodine is antifungal too apart from it's immune boosting function.

What do you think is at the base of your issues then? Still some parasites?

I've also heard that the immune system does relax and let candida proliferate in certain situations. One I know if when you have mercury or other heavy metal toxicity (candida can absorb 10x it's own weight of these metals). So that's one circumstance when candida can proliferate in this kind of indirect way. Maybe you're right and there are others - like parasites.
