I relaid my lawn about 4 years ago using the rolled up grass. Some areas were not doing so well so I put down lawn seed. These seeds have grown but it is a lighter colored heavier duty type grass. I think the rolled grass is a luxury type and the seeds were heavy duty. I think there is too much heavy duty grass to pull out so what can I do as I would like only the greener finer grass I had originally.

If I just kept regularly sowing luxury grass seed would it eventually get rid of the heavier duty grass? I'm guessing not as the heavy duty stuff has roots and also grows faster. Any ideas?
