I just read everything I could on Phenibut and that is not something I would mess with. It's the Phenyl ring that causes it to cross the blood brain barrier. The problem is the Phenyl ring will take everything with it. there is also a risk of allergic reaction.

Not trying to tell you what to do. It's just not something I would want to mess with. Please post your experience if you try it.

I would think something like alpha lipoic acid would cause the cells to allow the Gaba across the blood brain barrier.

I would think that the muscle relaxer that is approved by FDA and similar in chemistry to phenibut would be much safer. Basically it's the muscle relaxer I've known as Bute. It's used on race horses a lot for muscle relaxation. I have some of that but would never take it.
