Nope, not from 'die-off' at all. I've gotten them well into my years of zapping, especially using those bare metal ones.

Because if your body's resistance is up, it makes it hard for electricity to get through, so it burns you instead--one of the times being especially if I'm too dehydrated. I believe Dr. Clark discusses this as well.
