Hello everyone.

I'm new in this forum, so if you are interested in a short introduction, please see my profile :-)

I began chelating copper a year ago, primarily using medium dose zinc (15-40 mg)/day, mary thistle, dandelion, vitamin C plus gently supporting my methylation pathway with low dose active B vitamins and a multivitamin/mineral. For periods of time I have also been taking either ALA or liposomal glutathione. I've also tried NAC, but had a bad reaction to it, laying in bed feeling heavily poisoned for two days straight. Finally I have changed my diet towards an increased intake of animal protein-rich foods and vegetables - plus avoiding high-copper foods in general. Altogether, what I would consider a mild chelation protocol.

However, nevertheless the entire detox/chelation experience has been a living nightmare. All my symptoms got so much worse already from the beginning. I especially suffer from severe insomnia, anxiety almost 24/7 and increased depression. Plus my adrenals (and the rest of my body) feel completely zapped and exhausted, to the degree where I am bedridden a lot of the time, and at times I almost feel suicidal.

Due to my severe reaction, I have cut down on most supplements, but I still feel miserable. It feels like my chelation has started a chain reaction that I am unable to control.

I am obviously very concerned and wonder if anyone else has had similar experiences.

I'm also concerned about the fact that I have been taking ALA while still having two Amalgam fillings in my mouth (I have just gotten them removed at a dentist, who is specialised in safe Amalgam removal).

Altogether, I'm worried that I might just have "stirred up"/mobilized a lot of metals in my body, but haven't gotten rid of them. The worst case scenario is that the metals have been deposited in my brain (yikes!)

Does anyone know, which chelators are most effective in not only mobilizing but also excreting heavy metals and copper? I'm kind of a newbie to all this stuff, so I would appreciate every advice or experience you guys might share...

Very best regards from Denmark :-)
