The stones come in different shapes and colors. They are made out of hardened bile, bilirrubin and cholesterol.

It seems that the green ones are the most recent and also the bright green ones come directly from your liver, while the tan or brown ones may have sit in your gallbladder for a long time.

People report also black stones and white stones when these are calcified.
