In a 6 month followup of patients who used ivermectin vs controls who did not use ivermectin, the death rate was up to 4 times as high in the group given ivermectin vs those who did not take it.

Note that this was under clinical conditions. In cases of self medication, the death rate is likely far greater due to a lack of control and poor regulation of dosage.
