Did you feel you went into ketosis prior to day 12?

I've found that other people without fasting experience don't seem to understand. They simply don't get that the human body can not only survive, but create conditions amenable to healing, when the body is not burdened with digesting food for an extended period of time. My dad's an MD without personal fasting experience, and I haven't told him I'm fasting, simply because I don't want to be convinced not to stop. The results have been very good in terms of weight loss, mental clarity, and seemingly boundless mental energy. Our tongues tell us to keep going. Psychological hunger creeps in, and it's empowered to say no. I feel physically weak, but mentally, emotionally, and spiritually strong.

I'm not being medically supervised either, but I trust my body, and I am certainly not above asking for help from experienced fasters on the big island, where I live, or from MDs, NDs, etc. So far, my body is responding well. If that changes, I'll get the help I need.

Congrats on going vegan!! Welcome to the lifestyle, my friend!! It's a great way to live :)
