So, I had the Mirena IUD inserted 3 years ago when I was 16. I am now 19 years old and have never suffered any side effects from the Mirena. The insertion went fine, I just had some cramping, no bleeding. For the past 3 years, I have been fortunate enough to not have had any periods. I have had no complications with my Mirena IUD. Last month, I started cramping pretty heavily and chalked it up to an IBS episode, which I was diagnosed with over a year ago. I began to spot lightly, then it turned into a two week flow. After it went away, I just assumed my body was just adjusting to recent stress. Now, about a month and a half later, my breasts are extremely sore, I am cramping heavily in my lower abdomen, and I began spotting light pink blood. I am only concerned because I have never had period or bled with mirena for the past 3 years. Any help would be much appreciated!
