It would be easy to dismiss his view because of our knowledge of iodine, Flechas saying that Iodine is good during pregnancy etc. - but I think it's worth trying to understand what went wrong in these cases.

There was someone here on this forum who took Iodine in pregnancy and had a hypothyroid (by testing) baby. I would like to know what went wrong in her case as she seems healthy and was doing the Iodine protocol by the book.
