This is interesting. I've heard of the turpentine cure which is basically almost pure heptane (like petrol) as well Paula Ganner who claimed kerosene cured her cancer.

Tesla is reputed to have touted the health benefits of whisky. William Rockefeller's fortune began with selling "seneca oil"(petroleum distillate) to cure cancer.
