Hi
I am making Rejuvelac for the first time, having read about it in various health books and forums. I am using quinoa seeds.
I have a couple of questions. First, what is the difference, health wise, between just eating the sprouted seeds and drinking the drink made from them? Do we not get the same probiotics in either case? Or are the probiotics and micronutrients from a drink absorbed better by the body? Is there any scientific reason for this?
I wonder if the reason is the same as drinking juice instead of eating the fruit or vegetable, but then I am usually not inclined to drink juice - unless having fasted long - because during mastication saliva mixes up with the food and breaks down essential nutrients, something that juicing misses to an extent. At least this is my limited understanding.
Similarly, would not masticating and then digesting the sprouts in one's stomach and colon absorb more from them than taking in a drink?
My second question is, what does one do with the sprouts after having made 3 batches of Rejuvelac with them? Discard them or eat them?
Thanks.
