Um, wasn't the person you were replying to also recommending fruit?

Whatever.

There is no rule that says you can't eat fruit and take l-ascorbic acid as well. Best of both worlds.

You are shocked that China produces 90% of the world's ascorbic acid.

I on the other hand am shocked that the western world _leaves_ it to China to do this most important job.

I suppose the western world is too interested in the profits to be made from drugs which actually poison us, make us sicker, and then (apparently) require more toxic drugs...

Pauling never claimed vitamin C could cure cancer. However he thought it usefully extended the lives of cancer victims to give them more time for other treatments to be used.

Having said that, other people, e.g. Robert Cathcart, have used it with some success, I believe. Thomas Levy also. They both recommended using it in all possible ways, i.e. oral, IV, and (when it became available later - probably too late for Cathcart) liposomal, true liposomal, not home-made stuff.

Well, it may not, on its own, cure cancer, but I believe it, in conjunction with other nutrients and supplements, might well help prevent it.

It can definitely help with cardiovascular disease, along with other nutrients and supplements. Check out "The Pauling Therapy" on The Vitamin C Foundation website and forum.
