Read this:
Dr. Ralph Cinque, who worked closely with Shelton, says:
Shelton's diet really wasn't that strict. He was a lactovegetarian; he never could get past the milk products in his diet, including cheese, clabbered milk, and butter. I had a man come to me once who had fasted with Shelton in the early 60s and kept a diary of all the meals he was fed by Shelton afterwards. It consisted of fruit in the morning, salad and nuts or cheese for lunch, and in the evening either salad with cooked vegetables and a starch, or sweet fruit with clabbered milk.
Read this too, from the American Journal of Epidemiology:
[Of the four individual dairy items, only milk intake was significantly associated with a higher risk of Parkinson’s disease]

I think there is wisdom in Shelton's works, but the guy chose to consume dairy products. His death does not invalidate his teachings, since he allegedly was not a complete Low-Fat Raw Vegan Hygenist himself. How else would you explain his Parkinson's? Parasites? It seems to be a condition linked to Dairy.
Read this: Reversible parkinsonism induced by hypercalcemia and primary hyperparathyroidism
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/8481080
Milk-Alkali syndrome causes hypercalcemia, especially when paired with supplemental Vitamin D3 in milk(increases absorption of calcium). Perhaps he thought he could improve on the vegan diet by including milk. It is, after all, a natural food. An easy trap to fall into, especially being a notable figure. Being a vegan, especially a fasting vegan, one is constantly bombarded with accusations of being deficient in something. Perhaps this was a way to avoid scrutiny or appease an associate.
Pathway: Milk(D3)>>>Hypercalcemia>>>Parkinson's
Charlotte Gerson is doing well at 90 something. She is a better example of Natural Hygiene.
